A sad time in New Zealand

Thanks to those of you who have e-mailed to ask if we live anywhere near Christchurch, which is where the devastating earthquake was on Tuesday.  No, we are in the North Island of NZ, at the opposite end of the country, but being such a small country with only 4.4 million people, it feels like we're all family here, and what happens to the country feels as though it's happening to us all.  Sadly it doesn't look like any more survivors are going to be found under the collapsed buildings, although we still all hope for a miracle after 4 days now.  There are still over 200 people unaccounted for, and over 100 confirmed killed.  Almost the whole of the central city is destroyed, with the destruction stretching out into the suburbs where rescue teams are still working.   The earthquake there last Sept. was also terrible, but luckily with no loss of life, although the city and surroundings have been battling to get back on track since then, as there was extensive damage.  This one was so much worse.  Please keep the people of Christchurch, and NZ, in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.  Thank you.
