I'm back ...!

With all the festivities taking a break for a few days, I've finally managed to sit at my desk and make a card for a friend for New Years (since I didn't get around to sending Christmas cards this year!) and it fits nicely into the latest Less Is More challenge.  I think this is only the second or third card I've made in the past 6 months.  It's like coming off a long long stay on a desert island.  I have to try to remember where I keep all my supplies!
I've also just now discovered a wonderful new CAS blog, CASology, and as luck would have it, this card fits the bill for their challenge this week, the word "new".  I'll certainly be playing along with the challenges there in the future, being such a huge fan of CAS!  Be sure to take a look there too for great CAS inspiration.
The best Christmas gift we got was a visit to the hospital last week where DH saw his orthopaedic specialist and was told he was doing so well that they would be putting his new hip joint in within the next 2 weeks!  He's been without a hip joint and part of his upper femur for 5 months now and if you've read any of my posts over the past few months, you will know that it hasn't been a smooth ride trying to get rid of the infection where his previous artificial joint was implanted.  We won't know ourselves in a few months when life gets back to "normal" again!  LOL  However, he's still got the surgery to go through and then the long rehab and physio etc., but the worst will be behind us and it'll be onwards and upwards from then onwards!  Yay!
Oh yes, so before I forget, here's my card:
